Is coaching right for me?
Who Growth Korner is built for, what the first conversation looks like, and how to know a coach is the right fit.
Who is coaching with Growth Korner for?
Mostly first-time and emerging leaders: people who have just stepped into managing others, or are about to. We also work with established managers, business owners with people responsibility, and organisations developing their next generation of leaders. If you are navigating the shift from doing the work to leading the people, you are in the right place.
What does the free strategy call involve?
It is a relaxed 30 minute conversation, at no cost and no obligation. We talk through where you are, what is getting in the way, and what success would look like. If it is a fit, we map out a tailored program. If it is not, you still leave with clarity. Either way is fine.
How do I choose the right coach?
Fit matters more than anything else, so look for three things. First, lived experience: a coach who has actually led people, not just read about it. Second, a recognised coaching qualification, so the conversation is structured rather than just a friendly chat. Third, rapport, because you will only be candid with someone you trust. The free strategy call exists precisely so you can test that fit before committing to anything.

Sessions, cadence, and approach
The practical detail: how sessions run, how often you meet, online versus in person, and how tailored it really is.
How are the sessions run, and how long are they?
One-on-one coaching and mentoring sessions run for around 60 minutes and are held in person in Adelaide or via video conference, whichever suits you. We meet on a regular cadence agreed up-front, working on the development areas you identify, such as communication and feedback, delegation, or handling difficult situations.
How often will we meet?
Most people find a regular fortnightly rhythm works well: frequent enough to keep momentum, with enough space between sessions to put new skills into practice at work. Some prefer weekly when they are working through something pressing, others move to monthly as confidence builds. We agree a cadence up-front that fits your role and your diary, and adjust it as your needs change.
Do you coach online or in person?
Both, and the choice is yours. In-person sessions are available across Adelaide if you value meeting face to face. Video conferencing works just as well for the coaching itself and means a busy week, interstate travel, or a remote team is never a reason to miss a session. Plenty of people mix the two depending on what is happening that fortnight.
Is the coaching tailored, or a fixed program?
Every program is tailored to your individual and business needs. We start from your real challenges and goals, then build a strategic framework around them. There is no one-size-fits-all package, because the change you need is specific to you.
What is the difference between coaching and mentoring?
Coaching is a thought-provoking partnership where you set goals, uncover insight, and create actions you own and are accountable for. Mentoring is an experienced guide sharing wisdom and direction from real experience. Stefan blends both, drawing on years of leadership at adidas HQ and his certification as a professional coach, so you get the right mix for your situation.
Cost, length, and confidentiality
What it costs, how long people typically stay, what stays private, and how to bring an employer on board.
How does pricing work?
Because every program is tailored, pricing depends on what you need: the focus areas, how often you meet, and whether it is coaching for you or development across a team. We talk it through openly on the free strategy call, then put a clear proposal in front of you with no surprises and no lock-in pressure. You decide once you know exactly what is included and what it costs.
How long do people typically work with a coach?
Meaningful change in how you lead is built over months, not a single session, so most people work together over an engagement of a few months at minimum. That gives enough time to embed new habits and see them hold under real pressure. From there, some wrap up with the confidence to keep going on their own, while others continue with lighter-touch check-ins as they take on bigger roles. There is no long lock-in: you continue because it is working.
Is what I share kept confidential?
Yes. What you discuss in your sessions stays between you and your coach, and that confidentiality is the foundation that lets you be honest about the things you cannot say out loud at work. When an employer sponsors the coaching, we agree up-front exactly what is shared with them, which is usually high-level themes and progress against goals, never the private detail of your conversations.
How do I get my employer to pay for coaching?
Frame it as a return, not a cost. Coaching lifts performance, communication, and retention, and the research backs it: 85% of employees say an employer-funded coaching program shows their employer cares about them, and most companies that measured it made back their investment. Come to the conversation with the specific skills you want to build and the outcomes your manager cares about. We are happy to provide a clear outline of the program and its goals to support that internal case.
Coaching beyond the individual
How Growth Korner supports whole teams, where we are based, and what sets the approach apart.
Do you work with whole teams and organisations, not just individuals?
Yes. Alongside 1-on-1 coaching, Growth Korner offers team coaching, group facilitation, and themed workshops tailored to your organisation's goals. These are designed to lift self-awareness, improve communication, and strengthen leadership across your people, with content shaped to fit your business.
Where is Growth Korner based, and do you work remotely?
Growth Korner is based in Adelaide, South Australia, and works with leaders locally and right across the country. In-person sessions are available in Adelaide, and video conferencing means distance is never a barrier to getting started.
What makes Growth Korner different?
Two things set it apart. Stefan is a certified professional coach who is also leading a large team and a national distribution centre right now, so the coaching comes from someone living the pressures you face, not working from theory. And every program is built around your real challenges as a continuous journey, rather than a one-off workshop that fades by Friday. You get genuine experience, honest feedback, and accountability that makes the change stick.
A space to be honest
What you share with your coach stays between the two of you. That confidentiality is exactly what lets you talk through the doubts and situations you cannot raise with your team or your boss, and it is where the real progress happens.
Still not sure? That is normal
You do not need to have it all worked out to start. The free strategy call is a no-obligation conversation: if coaching is a fit, we map out a plan, and if it is not, you still leave with a clearer head. Either way is a good outcome.
